Shine -Ider

Shine-Ider is a sum (district) of Khuvsgul  province in Mongolia. Shine -Ider Soum was established in 1923 as Chandmani Soum of Chandmani-Ulziit Dalaiin khoshuu of Mandal Uul aimag. In 1931, Chandmani soum of Arkhangai province was established. In 1942, it became part of the Khuvsgul province and was renamed to Shine-Ider in 1956. Established in 1954 Jargal Road Group has been operating in the soum until 1990.

The total area is 2,050 km², of which 1,700 km² is pasture. The soum population was 4348, the majority of whom were Khalkh ethnic groups. The official name of the soum center is Erdenet and 123 km south-east of Murun and 839 km from Ulaanbaatar.
