Uyench

Uyench is a sum (district) of Khovd Province in western of Mongolia. Uyench soum of Khovd province was founded in 1931. 4503 people live in 1033 households.

Uyench soum is bordered by Mongol Altai mountain range, south of China, Bulgan soum to the west, north of Munkhkhairkhan, to the east with Mongolia and Altai.

The soum has a territory of 747673 hectares. More than 40 percent of the land area is Gobi, and 195,500 hectares of land are under state special protection.
