MunkhKhairkhan is a sum (district) of Khovd Province in western of Mongolia. Established in 1927 in MunkhKhairkhan soum,which is the summit of the Mongol Altai mountain range. It lies in the mountainous eastern body of the Mönh-khairkhan mountain range, which stretches from northwestern to more than 200 kilometers southeast of the Mongolian Altai Mountains, 40-80 km wide. There are fresh lakes such as Bayansai, Alag, Uliastai, Khukh, Bort, Shuurkhai, Senkher, Seven lake rivers, Buurug, Alag, Khukh, Rapid, Doloon and Khorool. It is located at an altitude of 1940 meters above sea level. The average annual temperature of Celsius +2 degrees and summer temperatures is 15 to 16 degrees, and the warmest is 28 to 30 degrees. Winter temperatures range from -13 to -14 degrees Celsius, and the extreme cold is -29 to -30 degrees.
