Arvaikheer meaning "Barley Steppe," is the capital of Uvurkhangai Aimag (province) and one of the most central points of Mongolia. It occupies 50 km2 and is 430 km from Ulaanbaatar. It has a territory of 173 km². 34,400 people.
Arvaikheer Airport (AVK / ZMAH) has a single unpaved runway and has regular flights to Ulaanbaatar and Altai.
