Khairkhan is a sum (district) of Arkhangai Province in central Mongolia. Khairkhan soum was founded in 1924. The summit of the soum is called Khairkhan and soum called after this. The soum center is located by the Hunui river bed and is called U-corner.
The total area of 2,500 km². It has a population of 3,343.
Khairkhan sum is located:
- 460 km from Ulaanbaatar,
- 175 km from the aimag center.
