Ikhtamir is a sum (district) of Arkhangai Province in central Mongolia. In 1931, the administration of the Ikhtamir Soum was inaugurated with approximately 500 households with 3.4 thousand people. Today, the soum has a population of 5.5 thousand, has a territory of 4.8 thousand km2, and the number of households is 1383.
Ikhtamir sum is located:
- 503 km from Ulaanbaatar,
- 27 km from the aimag center.
