Davst is a sum that is located in the western part of Uvs aimag. Davst sum was founded in 1925 and is the former Dalai Khaan's khoshuu of Altai Khaan province. sum is located 1700 km northeast of Ulaanbaatar and 137km away from Ulaangom. It is bordered by Ulaangom, Sagil sum and Tuva region of Russia.

Torkhilog, Khandgait, Uliastai and Jireeg rivers flow into Uvs Lake, covering 504224 hectares of land and 60% of the land area.
