Bayangobi is a sum (district) of Bayankhongor Province in southern Mongolia. The sum covers land area of total 462128 m2, with land width of 159km, length 157 and lies 3995 m above sea level. Located in Tsagaan Khol southern edge of Ikh Bogd mountain.  

Borders with Umngovi province Gurvantes in the south, borders by the other sides with Bayanlig, Shinejinst, Bayantsagaan and Jinst sums.  Atmospheric characteristics are abrupt, low precipitation, plants – general, woody plants, woody and soil saline, dominant plants are: wild leek, ramson,  stipa, sage, shrub, broom grass and etc 

Tha Bayangobi sum has historical sights such as the Tsagaan bulag inscribed and pictoral caves and rocks, ecclesiastical remains of Jambalzundui monastery situated in the Zuun Zadgai midland of Ikh Bogd mountain.
