Ulaankhus

Ulaankhus is a sum (district) of Bayan-Ulgii Province in western Mongolia. Ulaankhus soum was established in 1930. 1900 households, 8800 population, and 180,000 livestock, and Kazakhs live. In the most west of our country lies the mountainous of Altai and the Shiilkhem. It is bordered by China to the south and Russia to the north-west. Elevation of 2500-3000 meters above sea level and highest point is the Altai Tavan Bogd peak at 4374 meters. The total land area is 4600 sq.km.
