Tsengel is a sum (district) of Bayan-Ulgii Province in western Mongolia. Tsengel soum  was established in 1963. Tsengel sum is located in the western part of the country and is bordered by the People's Republic of China and Russia to the border crossing of the three countries. 6466 square terrain. 56% of the soum territory is protected by the Mongolian Altai Mountain Range. At sea level above 1800-2000 meters. Tavan Bogd (4653 m), and Tsengel Khazhan (3943 m). The summits are located in Tsengel (Tseveg Khairkhan) (3943 m) and Khuvsgul (3914 m).
