Taishir is a sum (district) of Govi-Altai Aimag (province) in western Mongolia. Taishir sum was founded in 1924. Population: 1426 In the northwestern part of Gobi-Altai, the area covers 391.3 thousand hectares along the Khasagt Jargalant mountain range, south to the Taishir mountain range and south-west of the Khangai Govi Desert. The soums are suitable for mountainous, steppe, steppe, livestock and crop farming. The soum center is located at the Zavkhan River's Den Tsagaan-Olom, located 1000 km from Ulaanbaatar and 46 km from the aimag center.
