Sharyngol is the third largest city in Mongolia and the capital of Darkhan-Uul Aimag (Darkhan-Uul Province). Established in 1994. Sharyn Gol is bordered by Badaig Mandal soum of Selenge aimag to the south and west of the 9553 hectare territory, and is bordered by Khongor soum of Darkhan-Uul aimag. Sharyn Gol soum has 8316 inhabitants. A large 110/6 kilowatt-voltage substation with a 51 km2 long power line connecting Darkhan and Sharyn, a 109.5 km long railway, 1900 tons of diesel fuel, a 250-liter petrol storage tank, and a large settlement with modern communication infrastructure .
