Ganga Nuur is a Lake at the northeastern edge of the vast sand dune belt of Moltsog Els. The Lake covers 4 square kilometers, and is fresh water. It is located 11 kilometers south east of the center of Dariganga Soum in Sukhbaatar Aimag.

The protected area embraces 288 square kilometers including the lake of Ganga Nuur, the sand dunes of Moltsog els , the lake of Kholboo Uizen, and Sumt. Protected area is famous for its nature, and it has enjoyed State protection since 1993. The abundance of food and sheltered nesting places attract flocks of the White-happed Crane, Whooper Swan, Little whimbrel and other birds.
