Elsen Tasarkhai, known as the Semi Gobi, is an 80 km stretch of sand dunes in central Mongolia where desert, mountains, and grasslands meet. Visitors can enjoy camel riding, sand sliding, short hikes, and experience traditional nomadic life by visiting local families and staying in a Mongolian ger under a star-filled sky. Kharkhorin, also known as Karakorum, was the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire in the 13th century. Today, visitors can explore the ruins of the old city, visit Erdene Zuu Monastery, and learn about Mongolia’s rich history and culture at the Kharkhorin Museum.
