Introduction to Khorgo – Arkhangai Province

Khorgo is a volcanic site located in Arkhangai province, central Mongolia, within the beautiful Khorgo-Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National Park. This area is famous for Khorgo Volcano, a dormant volcano with a stunning crater, and the nearby Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake, known for its pristine waters and scenic surroundings.

Visitors can hike around the volcano’s crater, enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding valleys, and explore the lava fields that tell the story of ancient volcanic activity. The park is also home to diverse wildlife, including deer, marmots, and various bird species, making it a great destination for nature lovers and photographers.

Khorgo offers opportunities for camping, horseback riding, and fishing by the lake. Travelers can stay in traditional Mongolian gers or nearby guesthouses, experiencing authentic nomadic hospitality and local cuisine. The combination of volcanic landscapes, peaceful lakes, and rich culture makes Khorgo a perfect destination for adventure and relaxation.

For those looking to explore central Mongolia’s natural wonders, Khorgo and its surroundings provide an unforgettable experience of breathtaking scenery and authentic cultural immersion.

Nomadic Family Experience in Tariat, Arkhangai Province

My name is Molortsetseg. I live in Tariat soum, Arkhangai province, with my husband and our four children. We are a traditional nomadic family, herding yaks, cows, horses, and sheep in the beautiful Mongolian countryside.

Since the year 2000, we have been warmly welcoming travelers from around the world to experience authentic nomadic life. Our guests have the chance to stay in our traditional ger (yurt), learn about our daily lifestyle, taste fresh dairy products made from yak and cow milk, and even try milking animals or herding alongside us.

Our home is located in a peaceful and scenic area not far from Tariat center. We can meet and pick up guests from the center and bring them to our home. It’s a great opportunity for those who wish to explore the culture, traditions, and hospitality of Mongolia’s herder families in person.

If you're seeking an unforgettable and immersive cultural experience, we warmly invite you to visit our family.
