The traditional song means there is no composer of it changing its features mouth by mouth. There two types of traditional songs:

  • Mongolian traditional drawling songs
  • Mongolian traditional popular songs

Mongolian traditional drawling songs 
Having more melody and less lyric is good for emitting a melodious sound, flexible for counting life events, free, and like a breeze of resounding and meaning of the special expression of  young boys and girls of the steppe. It is more comforting if Morin Khuur sound is mixed with it. Moreover, song will have two choruses and be sung by different rhythm relating to all the life events and the heart of the nature. The most words of songs are about imagining steppe, horse, camel, sheep, blue sky, white mountain, lakes and river beds.

Mongolian traditional popular songs have many different explanations, different cycled sentences, special rhythms and no long chords.
Songs are usually sung in among the people’s lives, such as home, bay areas, steppe, to look after horses and a kind of art having no regret of where you are. Topics mostly are about human, nature, society, work, livestock, humor, rituals, friendship, and sadness.
About the lyrics, there are choruses, burdens, sometimes no repetition, comparisons, metaphors, and most importantly based on life stories.
