Mongolian national clothes

Mongolian national clothes including 20 different ethnicities categorized in three different types-Western, Eastern and Central. There is a belief that the all the benefactions are in clothes and men’s in the belt while women’s in jewelries. Mongolian clothes include hat, deel, uuj, coat, vest, underclothes and boots. The main material of the deel clothes is silk. There is similarity of style and meaning while the clothes are showing their own ethnicities. However different men’s clothes, they are pretty same to each other in any territories. On the other hand, women’s accessories much more different and this will be obvious when you more focus on the upper flap of deel, nudarga, shoulder of the uuj, hair style, jewelries, and  boots.

The hat
Mongolians are always so grateful for their hats. Many different ethnicities has their own tradition to make the hat extraordinary. There are various types of hats including men’s, women’s and children’s, and also for the winter, summer, ordinary, special, daily, charming, and etc.

The deel
The deel was made up so flexible for Mongolian’s body, health, and climate situations. It is not for just wear, but also for many other uses. A Nudarga, for instance, is used as a seal or a glove while its wide belt is for health of the back and kidney.

The belt
Not that long time ago, Mongolians use the belt decorated by the gold, silver and leather. For making that single or double leather belt, they dry the skin of horses or cows and then cut off by around inches. Mongolians believe females must not wear the belts, they called females “busguichuud” meaning people having no belts. After wearing the deel, you have to use the belt.

The boots
There is the belief among Mongolians that the boots are for being so strong and resilient because those help the human to stand properly. Long time ago, Mongolians started to make the boots with the turned up toecap, leather bootleg, stitched sole and grained leather between them. Today in Mongolia, there are around 20 different ethnicities using the various clothing styles according to their traditions and features.
