Airag

Mongolians have a tradition to hold the horse in the early summer and take away in the late autumn. We celebrate the festival called female horse in 3 days after catching the horse or the time to drink airag. 

The horse milk beat is called airag. It is hard to find someone in Mongolia who is not curious about drinking airag because its taste and smell. It does not matter whether you are old, young, male or female while drinking airag by bowl.
Airag will be ready after many times of beating the mix of horse milk and the source of airag reserved for just this for a whole season in hohuur. It requires at least 2000-4000 beats. Beat helps it have more wide range of the mix of air and the source of airag.
