Booking policies
Mongolia Guide sets these rules for each type of listing. Providers can’t change them, so every tour — or every stay — follows the same terms.
Cancellations and refunds are by request
There are no automatic cancellations or refunds. If plans change or something goes wrong — a provider declines, doesn’t answer, or the trip can’t go ahead — send us a request from your booking. A real person on our team reviews it and decides.
- 1
Open your booking
In My bookings, open Details on the booking and choose Cancel or request a refund. Cancellations go through us too.
- 2
Tell us what happened
A few lines are enough. You can name an amount, up to the deposit you paid online.
- 3
We review and reply
Our team looks at every request and answers in Messages. Approved refunds reach your card in 3–5 working days.
Refunds cover the 10% deposit you paid online. The balance is paid to the provider on the trip, so it’s never charged here.

Pick a type of listing to see its terms.
Changes and no-shows
Ask the provider to change dates or group size at least 14 days before the start; they confirm if they can. If you miss the start without telling the provider, it counts as a cancellation with no refund. Joining late does not shorten the price.
Rules for guests
Follow your guide’s instructions on the route, at river crossings and around animals. Respect herder families’ homes and customs: ask before taking photos of people. Travel insurance that covers remote areas is strongly recommended.
Payment
You pay a 10% deposit online when you book. The rest is paid to the provider in person, in US dollars or tögrög, in cash or by card where the provider takes cards. Your booking is confirmed once the provider accepts it; until then the deposit is all you have paid.
Booked before a new version came into force? Your booking keeps the terms you agreed to — you’ll find them in Bookings under each booking’s details.
