Green lake

Ider, Zavkhan, West See it on the map

Green Lake is located at the heart of Ovoot Mountain, 23 km away from Ider sum. The lake is located on the north side. The reason of naming it green lake is due a legend saying that the green rays of a treasure located at Ovoot hit the surface of the lake and thus its water appears green.

From both sides it looks dark for around 5 to 8 meters from the border, but in the middle it appears green. It could be due to the surrounding forest. Besides, it is very fresh and can see its fish clearly. From the shore, it always grabs the water and keep its normal water level. A little pond comes out and join the Ider River. On the shore, there is a Margad Embuu tourist camp.
