What’s included

  • Included: Eagle Release Ceremony The eagle release ceremony is a rare and meaningful tradition practiced by Kazakh eagle hunters in Western Mongolia. After many years of loyal partnership—typically 10 to 15 years of hunting together—the golden eagle is gently released back into the wild when it reaches maturity or can no longer hunt effectively.
  • Included: The ceremony is both emotional and symbolic, representing respect for nature and the life cycle of the eagle. It usually takes place in the mountains or open steppe, where the hunter offers gratitude to the eagle for its service, feeds it one final time, and removes its hood for the last release.
  • Included: As the eagle takes flight, it is believed to return to its natural instincts and join the wild eagle population again. In some cases, hunters may later recognize “their” eagle by its markings in the sky.
  • Included: This tradition reflects the deep balance between humans, animals, and nature in Kazakh nomadic culture, and it is considered one of the most sacred moments in eagle hunting heritage.
